Last night we (V and I) went to a cocktail party thrown by one of the general surgeons that V works with. He lives in a huge house in a very nice neighborhood. Lovely to chat with adults! The night was glorious and very windy. This morning we were awaken by a phone call from the twin's school... No school for them today. The power got knocked out in the area of the school. So, entertaining 8 year olds all day! Yippee! A visit to Targé, to buy pants for J and then picked up L from high school.

My friend published a recipe from "The Cooking of Vienna's Empire," by Joseph Wechsberg. Transylvanian Goulash I was drooling by the time I finished reading the recipes! Funny because I just finished reading Julia Child's autobiography My Life in France, and I want to buy Mastering the Art of French Cooking" and cook like crazy!!! Of course, all the pans are packed and I can't buy ingredients that I can't use immediately!!!! Whaaa!

Just want this move to be over!

Tuesday

Up at 4 - can't seem to sleep! go figure!

Kids to school. Lydia's boyfriend broke up with her by text!!!!!! Little s***! He couldn't have waited 3 weeks until we move out of the country!?

Lydia had a CAT scan yesterday, so I'm on tender hooks waiting for results.

Need to change out the bike pedals and go biking, but it is drizzly and windy and brrrr! the longer I sit here the less motivated I am, again, go figure!

So much little stuff to get accomplished today. I think I'll start with a nap.

Lazy day

Didn't get much (read nothing) done today! Made pasta salad, bought writing practice books for the small ones, picked up kids, did homework with them, cooked meat, typed... Snooze! Grey and cold day.

Rant! Why are we paying taxes to the city, when I have to make flash cards for the spelling words, word searches et cetera. Now I am in charge of the math work book, they will "check to see it was done but not check the work". And.... They have Captain Question, that can only be answered using the internet! How many games did the Brewers win in August? What???? There is no way a kid could find that on the internet! It took me about 10 minutes to do it! Might just as well home school, oh, which reminds me - I am... They have never been told how to make letters, they both start at the bottom of the letters! WTF?

OK. I'm though for today! ha!

nerves about moving

The house has been on the market for 2 weeks now, and only one showing! No one showed up for the open house on Sunday. The real estate agent said it is usually very quiet when there is a Packer game on. What is that about? Sorry all you cheese heads, but I will never understand the fanaticism! Especially when we need to sell the house!

I rode my new bike today! It was cold and I felt old, but great to be "back in the saddle again". I rode from home to MCW and back in 45 minutes! not bad for an old bird!
